Gov. Rick Snyder is expected to join Detroit Mayor Dave Bing on Wednesday morning at the grand opening of an auto parts supply company expected to employ about 500 people.
Detroit Manufacturing Systems on Southfield Road is expected to bring hundreds of high-tech, automotive interior component assembly jobs to the city.
It's a joint venture between the Rush Group and French auto parts maker Faurecia SA
The auto supplier is owned by a minority woman - Andra Rush.
The Rush Group and Faurecia SA have said the venture expects to hire about 500 workers in Detroit within the next three years.
Detroit Manufacturing Systems has a long-term contract with Ford Motor Co. to work on cockpits for the Mustang, Expedition and Navigator.
United Auto Workers and Ford Motor Co. officials also are expected to attend Wednesday's ceremony on Detroit's west side.
