DORIS HAGE

Founder & CEO, Life on Purpose Detroit
Doris Hage is a seasoned entrepreneur, workforce development expert, and strategic consultant
with over 20 years of experience bridging talent and opportunity. As the Founder and CEO of
Life on Purpose Detroit, Doris has pioneered a "purpose-first" methodology that empowers
youth and adults to overcome systemic barriers and secure sustainable, meaningful
employment.
A Legacy of Entrepreneurship & Education
Doris’s workforce development journey began at age 24, when she successfully launched her
first post-secondary school in the film industry. Since then, she has been instrumental in the
development of five post-secondary institutions, helping them scale and navigate complex
funding landscapes, including VA and WIOA. Her expertise in school operations and curriculum
development has made her a sought-after consultant for vocational and trade schools seeking
to maximize student placement and gainful employment.
Strategic Impact & Community Leadership
A recognized leader in the Detroit business community, Doris is a graduate of the Goldman
Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and was recently honored as the 2026 Micro
Business of the Year by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. Her impact is felt through highlevel partnerships with:
● Government & Civic Agencies: Managing critical workforce contracts with Michigan
Rehabilitation Services and the City of Detroit’s Grow Detroit’s Young Talent.
● Media & Corporate Innovation: Developing internship programs for major outlets like
WDIV-Channel 4 and placing candidates in high-growth sectors such as Cyber Security,
Digital Media Arts, and Skilled Trades.
● Advocacy: Dedicated to the successful reintegration of Veterans and displaced workers
into the workforce.
The "CEO-Coach" Mindset
Doris is currently scaling her Life on Purpose model nationally, focusing on systemic change
through mindset and character development. She is eager to bring her unique blend of
educational leadership, multi-sector networking, and "matchmaking" expertise to the NAWBO
Detroit Board to help elevate women business owners across the region.

Joscelyn A. Davis

JADE Strategies 

Joscelyn has served in several significant leadership roles across private, public, and nonprofit sectors for more than 25 years, advising organizations on strategic planning, leadership development, and organizational change. As President and CEO of JADE Strategies, Inc. (JSI), Joscelyn partners closely with clients to navigate complex challenges, align operations with mission, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and drive sustainable progress.

Joscelyn is the founder of JSI Mentoring Leaders℠, advanced coaching programs for existing and emerging leaders and teams, and Mentoring Trailblazers℠, a training program specifically designed for professional women. She is the architect of the JSI Opportunity Surveys℠, a suite of research-based online performance assessments that help organizations understand leadership capacity, accelerate development, and support succession planning through practical data and structured insights.

Well-versed in leadership and organizational culture, Joscelyn is an award-winning leadership coach who has facilitated hundreds of programs related to executive and team development, collaborative cultures, strategic planning, communication, conflict management, and emotional intelligence. She is internationally-certified in Personality Dimensions® Awareness Workshop facilitation, which assesses personal temperaments, explores unconscious biases, and strengthens team collaboration.

Joscelyn earned her BA from the University of Michigan and her MBA from the University of New Haven. She is a current member of the Board of Directors for the Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce, where she also serves as Chair of the CEO Women’s Committee. She previously served as Board Chair and a seven-year member of the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is the immediate past Board Chair of YouthTank Detroit. Her leadership has been
recognized with honors including Auburn Hills Chamber Board Member of the Year and the Chamber’s inaugural Leadership Impact Award. She was named one of CIO Views Top Ten Most Influential Leadership Coaches and is a recipient of the Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC Women’s Leadership Award. She is an alumna of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.

She launched her first business in 1995 as principal of Hermès Communications, a strategic communications and marketing firm based in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to this, she led departments in New York, Bermuda, London, and Dublin as Corporate Communications Manager at Center Re, a Wall Street reinsurance firm and Zurich subsidiary. Davis is the former Director of Strategy for United Way Community Services and Oakland County Director of Community Engagement for United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

Chevelle Brown

I Teach Chess 

Chevelle Brown is the Founder and CEO of I Teach
Chess, an award-winning organization that uses
chess to develop critical thinkers, problem solvers,
and strategic decision-makers in children—resulting
in measurable academic growth and lasting
community transformation. Through a scalable
teaching model, she has built an educational
ecosystem serving school districts, nonprofits, and
collegiate institutions across the United States,
Canada, France, Dubai, South Africa, and the United
Kingdom.


A United States Marine Corps veteran and retired
Detroit Police Officer, Brown translates leadership,
discipline, and strategy into an international teaching
framework that produces championship competitors
and confident leaders. Her work spans K–12 schools,
higher education—including Morehouse College and
Spelman College—and community initiatives
supporting veterans and senior citizens.


She serves on the Board of the Michigan Chess
Association and Money Matters for Youth, where she
applies her Think Critically Method™ to financial
literacy education, expanding the reach and impact of
I Teach Chess nationally and internationally.
