President's Message

Dear NAWBO Sisterhood,

We’ve officially moved through a full month of spring—and if you’ve been in Michigan long enough, you know that means we’ve earned this season.

Spring is more than a shift in weather. It’s a reminder.

A reminder that growth doesn’t always look loud.
That progress doesn’t always happen in the spotlight.
And that what’s been planted—often quietly, behind the scenes—is still working.

As women business owners, we understand this deeply.

Because before the visibility…
Before the recognition…
Before the “wins” people celebrate…

There was intention.
There were long days.
There were decisions made with courage, even when the outcome wasn’t clear.

That’s what spring represents.

It’s the moment where everything you’ve been building begins to bloom.

And blooming doesn’t mean everything is perfect.
It means you’re showing up anyway.
It means your business is taking shape in new ways.
It means your confidence is catching up with your calling.

What I love most about this season—and about this community—is that we don’t bloom alone.

At NAWBO Greater Detroit, we are surrounded by women who are growing, stretching, and rising in real time. Every conversation, every event, every connection is an opportunity to water what we’re building—not just individually, but collectively.

Because when one of us blooms, it creates space for others to do the same.

So as we move deeper into this season, I want you to ask yourself:

What am I ready to step into?
What have I been nurturing that deserves to be seen?
Where am I being called to grow next?

Give yourself permission to be in process.
Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come.
And most importantly—keep going.

Your business is not just something you run.
It’s something you’re cultivating.
It’s something that creates impact, builds community, and contributes to a legacy that extends far beyond today.

And that kind of growth?
It’s always worth tending to.

Let’s continue to bloom—together.

With gratitude,
Tenicia Moulden, Esq.
President, NAWBO Greater Detroit
