Laura is an entrepreneur and visionary behind bringing a unique shopping experience to Michigan. Women everywhere deserve to feel confident, empowered and comfortable when they are shopping for themselves, and Laura felt this experience was truly absent from the Michigan retail scene.
Laura founded Ferne BoutiqueTM, a contemporary women’s apparel boutique in Bay City, Michigan in 2015 after recognizing the lack of unique clothing and boutique options in the Great Lakes Bay Region. After 6 months in business Laura realized that the product offerings and experience of shopping at Ferne BoutiqueTM were missing in many other cities in Michigan and felt very passionate about growing Ferne to offer this locally in multiple cities. Laura spent time strategizing and seeking out cities that would be the best fit to grow Ferne Boutique in Michigan and opened in New Center Detroit in 2018, downtown Ann Arbor in 2020, and a collaboration store with a men’s brand, Mature Look at Twelve Oaks Mall in 2022.
