Judith Latcha

Judy Latcha is an interior designer and business leader with decades of experience in commercial, contract, and residential environments. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Wayne State University (1972), complemented by postgraduate studies in Business Administration. After years in the office and equipment industry, she founded Latcha Design Group in 1994, specializing in workplace design, furnishings, and ergonomics. In 2015 she completed a fiveyear plan focused on growth and advanced training in residential construction and kitchen and bath design. 

Judy has long been active in the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). A member since 1995, she served as President of the Greater Detroit Chapter (2006–2007) and held numerous leadership roles in public policy, awards, and national committees. She was instrumental in launching the YEA! youth entrepreneurship program through NAWBO/EXCEL, later serving as Vice President. Her honors include the NAWBO Public Policy Advocate Award, Pioneering Spirit Awards (2011, 2013), and Women of Wayne Headliner Award (2006). 

In the business community, Judy chaired the Metro East Chamber of Commerce (2004–2005) after many years as a board member and committee leader. She also serves the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce. 

Since 1995, Judy has volunteered as a mediator, trainer, and board leader with The Resolution Center, earning multiple awards. She also founded the East Shore Optimist Club in 2006 and has served on boards supporting the arts, community health, and historic preservation. Her guiding principle remains: “There are no problems, only solutions.”
