Georgella Muirhead 2026 Keynote Speaker

Georgella Muirhead brings over 40 years of experience in communications and community engagement across government, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. She began her career as communications director for Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and Southfield, later leading Detroit’s 32-member communications team and overseeing citywide messaging and high-profile events, including presidential debates.

In 1998, Georgella co-founded Berg Muirhead & Associates, now 98Forward, Michigan’s largest minority-owned PR firm. Under her leadership, the agency has served more than 150 clients, building a legacy of engaging multicultural and hard-to-reach audiences with innovative, results-driven campaigns.

An accredited PRSA member, Georgella has received over two dozen national, state, and local awards, including the PRSA Silver Anvil Award and AMA Grand Effie Award. In 2021, she was inducted into the PRSA Detroit Hall of Fame in recognition of her transformative impact on the profession.

A dedicated mentor and community leader, Georgella has guided countless professionals, championed inclusive communication strategies, and helped shape the next generation of PR leaders.
