Erica Foondle is a strong and proud mother, devoted Comerican, financial professional, labor advocate, and community leader with over two decades of experience championing financial literacy, equity, and social justice. At just 19, Erica began her career while embracing the responsibilities of motherhood, embodying resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for others.
A graduate of Wayne State University’s Labor Studies program, Erica is deeply passionate about empowering individuals, families, and small businesses with the tools to achieve financial independence and long-term success. Her focus on small business development reflects her commitment to fostering equitable growth and creating pathways for entrepreneurs to thrive.
Erica’s advocacy extends far beyond her professional endeavors. As the key organizer of the Detroit March for Public Education, she championed the fight for an equitable public education system, particularly in Detroit’s underserved communities. This march was a profound act of solidarity during a pivotal time, uniting voices to uphold the promise of quality education for all.
In addition to her advocacy, Erica serves as a board member of the Active Minds Foundation, focusing on creating youth mentoring and sports programs in underserved communities. She is also an active member of the Women United Committee with United Way of Southeast Michigan, advancing initiatives that promote equity and opportunity.
Erica credits her last four years of professional success to the guidance and mentorship of her leader, Yolanda Serra. At home, Erica is supported by her husband Nathan, a proud union member of IUOE Local 324. Together, they celebrate their children, Kenneth and Samantha, as they pursue careers in medicine. Erica continues to lead with compassion, vision, and a dedication to building inclusive, thriving communities.
