President's Message June 2020

June 1, 2020

Greetings,

As we wind down our 2019-20 fiscal year, I am grateful for the opportunity this past year to connect, learn and grow not only with my fellow board members, but also with our members and corporate sponsors. When I began my presidency last June, I would have never thought a year later we would have to completely rethink how we connect with our members, our sponsors and future members. But like so many of our members, we are adjusting and rethinking how we do business to make sure we can still serve and help women business owners succeed.

I truly hope you will join us virtually for our upcoming virtual President's Reception on June 23, 2020 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. I want to thank Comerica Bank for sponsoring this event. This is a great opportunity for you to meet, although virtually, our incoming new board members, as well as our returning board members. We will highlight our past year's accomplishments as well as our vision for the upcoming year. We will also hold a brief annual meeting at the beginning to vote on bylaws changes. On May 22nd, members received notification of the bylaws changes and the announcement of 2020-21 NAWBO GDC Board.

As some of our businesses are able to reopen, businesses in Detroit and Oakland County may be able to get a PPE starter kit.  If from Detroit visit this website and if from Oakland County visit this website, please note that for Oakland County you must be an employer with 50 or less employees. We also have other resources listed on our COVID-19 resource website page
