President's Message - Febraury 2021

February 5, 2021

I am excited about our renewed relationship with Davenport University. I encourage you to learn more and take advantage of the discounted learning opportunities for all NAWBO GDC members, members’ employees, spouses, and dependents. Explore this opportunity by visiting

Today is you last chance to take the Quarter 1 NAWBO-GUSTO Economic Survey. To change policies and to continue to improve the business environment for women business owners, we need sound data, and your participation will make our survey valuable nationwide. NAWBO is partnering with an economist to analyze our data and make sure lawmakers understand our perspective. To have a seat at the table with lawmakers, we need to bring information, statistics, and stories. Help us advocate by completing the survey TODAY.

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) reopened in January for all lenders and for 1st and 2nd draw loan applications. The SBA wants to stress two main points to NAWBO members. First, there will be enough money. Second, the process will take longer this time because they are verifying businesses more thoroughly on the front-end to prevent fraud. Please be patient. Visit here for links to SBA forms.

As business owners, we can never stop learning and adjusting to meet new goals and challenges ahead. NAWBO will continue to support you and your businesses.
