What is NAWBO?

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), headquartered in Washington, DC is the only dues-based national organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs in all kinds of businesses. The organization currently has 90 chapters in the United States, and is affiliated with Les Femmes Chefs d' Enterprises Mondiales (World Association of Women Entrepreneurs).

NAWBO traces its origins to a group of Washington, D.C. businesswomen who began meeting in the Spring of 1974 to talk about mutual experiences, exchange information and develop business skills. Two years later they began recruiting members from across the country, and in 1978 the first chapters were formed.

The balance of the members of the National Association of Women Business Owners hold Corporate Partner memberships available to those corporations and businesses not owned by women but who wish involvement with our organization. We do offer several levels of corporate partnership that can be tailored to the company's needs. As a corporate partner, your liaison to NAWBO (preferably a woman) would enjoy all the benefits of membership including meetings, social events, and lists.
