                                                        March 2018

Dear NAWBO Sisters,

We kicked off Women's History month on Thursday, March 1st honoring influential women in business at our 22nd Annual Top 10 Michigan Business Women Awards Dinner. Despite the snow storm over 175 people attended to celebrate 11 phenomenal business women. Carla Harris from Morgan Stanley was our inspirational keynote speaker and certainly energized the entire audience! (Of course, our own Paula Tutman, kept us moving!)

As always, we are thankful for our Top 10 sponsors and supporters (click here to view).I would like to send a special thank you to this year’s Co-Chairs, and NAWBO-GDC Directors, Charmaine Brown and Siham Jaafar and their committee for an amazing event!  Check out all the photos from the event here

AND, the very next day, we had our first expanded Ladies Who Lunch! We now have our own private room and had a great time! The next three months will be supported by our UHY sponsor! Join us next month and meet Erica Battle a CPA from UHY as she joins us for lunch!

We also kicked-off our Spring membership drive this month. New members receive a $25 discount off the initiation fee and rejoining members save as well on the re-initiation fee. Plus, everyone who joins during the Membership Drive will be entered into a raffle to win a complimentary registration (valued at $450) for NAWBO 2018 National Women's Business Conference in Spokane, WA. This is a great opportunity to let women business owners everywhere experience how NAWBO can help them leverage The Power of Collaborations that will inspire them while they are Driving Business Forward! Every woman business owner should be a member of NAWBO, and we need your help to make that a reality! Send them this link to join. Or invite them to our next Circle of Learning or Ladies Who Lunch to learn more about why they should join.

This is the final month to give feedback on the most pressing needs and roadblocks facing women business owners as well as women in the workforce. We hope to provide valuable feedback to our legislators in late spring and this information will be crucial in helping us focus our discussions.  You have a very strong and powerful voice, do not waste that privilege! The timing is right!  Please help us define what those issues are by answering our very short survey here.
