Dear NAWBO Sisters,

It is hard to believe, we are “rolling” into November! Last month we attended the National Conference in Minneapolis with the theme of “Together We Dare!” It was motivating and entertaining and we had the opportunity to meet women from all of over the world. Erin Brockovich was the opening speaker and had everyone “fired-up.” If you have not yet had the opportunity to attend our National Conference, join us next year in Spokane. (Check out the national website here for more information.)

We started the month with our first Advisory Board meeting (click here to view the board). What great inspiration and mentorship! We walked away with a wonderful foundation for our upcoming year!  It is our mission to enhance our membership services and develop strong a viable programs. We will be sharing some of those “Innovative” ideas very soon! Shortly afterwards, we held our Partners Luncheon. This provided us the opportunity to say thank you to our sponsors for their ongoing support and share the exciting events planned for the upcoming year! It is their sponsorship and partnership that allows to grow. Check out our calendar for “Coming Attractions” here!

There is still time to nominate that Michigan business women who you admire. Every year, our “Top Ten Event,” which this year takes place on March 1, 2018, honors outstanding women in the business community in ten diverse categories.  Award descriptions are listed below or you can go here to read more about these awards. WHO DO YOU KNOW that meets or excels in one or more of these profiles?  This is your opportunity to recognize them by nominating them for the award. All you need to do is click on the link and fill in the information and submit it electronically.  You can submit more than one nomination and you can self-nominate. You do not need to be a NAWBO member to nominate. Honorees do not have to be a NAWBO member, although we would like them to join NAWBO-GDC if they are a women business owner. Deadline is November 30, 2017.
